Sungguh sebuah hal yang menyenangkan saat seorang blogger memiliki blog dengan PageRank yang tinggi. Bukan rahasia lagi mengapa hampir setiap blogger diseluruh dunia berlomba-lomba menaikkan PageRank blognya dengan berbagai cara. Apabila pagerank kita tinggi maka kualitas blog kita akan baik di mesin pencari dan blog kita akan semakin terkenal.


1. Buatlah konten bernilai informatif dan orisinil

The Greek myths and other tales retold in 'tweets'

MANILA, Philippines - Ever wondered how the Greek myths would be "told" if they were composed in tweets?
Well, wonder no more, as social networking site Twitter on Wednesday launched a five-day fiction festival that will have, among others, the Greek myths as some of the classic stories that will be retold in 140-character installments.

New stories in five different languages from authors from five continents will also be featured in the "completely virtual event."

"The Twitter Fiction Festival will feature creative experiments in storytelling from authors around the world," wrote Andrew Fitzgerald of Twitter's editorial programming media team on the social networking site's blog.

Some of the stories that have been included in the line-up are 100 Greek myths that will be retold by British author Lucy Coats (@lucycoats) through 100 tweets; "Found Shakespeare" selections through @wwnorton; and Henry James's classic "The Turn of the Screw" that will be "set in present-day White House" by Andrew Pyper (@andrewpyper), among others.

"The Twitter Fiction Festival isn’t just for writers— it’s for readers too! You can enjoy the showcase selections at the #twitterfiction page. There will be stories being told on that page at all hours of the day during the Festival. You can also find and follow accounts telling stories during the festival by searching the #twitterfiction hashtag," Fitzgerald added.

Some of the fictiona festival tweets from readers will be "highlighted" through the @twitterbooks account.

Adding features to Twitter could make it fly

Twitter has certainly come a long way.

The social media site was launched in 2006 as Twttr.com, according to businessinsider.com, and in a July interview with “TechCrunch,” Paul Guyot, founder of the social media monitoring company, Semiocast, reported that Twitter now has more than 170 million active users. Recent statistics from TheSocialSkinny.com report that the average person has 126 followers and almost anyone can see that it’s rare to find an individual following less than 100 users in return.

If you happen to get curious about who exactly a friend is following on Twitter, all you have to do is browse through an enormous list to find out.

That’s perfectly fine if you have the patience to scroll, scroll and scroll some more until your eyeballs feel like they are going to fall out of your head.

Not exactly appealing, is it?
A person who wants to find a particular user on that “following” list might not be interested in making the extra effort and will likely forgo the tedious search altogether.

The process of narrowing down a user’s followers can certainly be just as annoying, and trying to navigate through tweets is next to impossible.

The Associated Press has reported that studies have shown people only have an attention span of about eight seconds when surfing the Internet, so the last thing they are going to do is waste their time perusing areas of a site that require any more effort than that.

A possible solution to these irritating problems is for Twitter to implement more search options.

While the ability to search through trending tweets around the world already exists, it isn’t enough, in my opinion , especially if one has a particular user’s tweets they are interested in reading.

Other sites allow this feature, so it only makes sense for Twitter to include it, along with search bars for the “followers” and “following” lists.

People certainly aren’t going to leave the social media site just because it lacks certain search features, but adding them would only improve Twitter and help it to grow.

Getting Listed in Google

Google uses a "crawler or spider" - robots that automatically index pages on the web - called GoogleBot. Google usually takes an average of 6-8 weeks to index a newly submitted site. When you submit your site URL to Google, GoogleBot pick's up and goes through each link on each page. It reads through all your site pages to pick up keywords, then saves and indexes the pages in its catalog cache. Twitter adds email service

San Francisco—Microblogging service Twitter has introduced new features designed to email tweets to people who don't use the social network.

With the new features, people can email tweets, including pictures or videos, to people who are not on Twitter. Twitter said it is adding a “More” button below tweets that can be clicked to email the tweet to people.

In addition, tweets in search results will now show who has retweeted them or listed them as their favorites, according to Twitter.

Facebook gets more Twitter-like with mobile 'share' button

Facebook is becoming a little more Twitter-like with one of its newest features: A "share" button for mobile that's a lot like a retweet.

The social networking giant has started rolling out the button on its mobile site, a spokesperson said, and it plans to add the feature to iOS and Android.

The company didn't provide any other information about the share button or its reasoning behind the move. We'll update if we get any more details.

The mobile feature, like the Web browser version, allows users to repost a friend's photos and links. The button is located at the bottom of a post next to the "like" and "comment" tabs, and users can add text before sharing a post.

Facebook and Twitter are both popular in their own right, but they've also started incorporating features that make them more similar. Twitter has been testing out "like" and star buttons to potentially replace the "favorite" tool the service has used for years. And Facebook's news feed has been compared to Twitter's stream of tweets.

As TechCrunch noted in an earlier post about the news, the share button for mobile shouldn't come as a big surprise. The site said that a Facebook manager commented during a talk a couple months ago that the company builds products its employees want to use, and a share button is one of those features.

Twitter Tweaks Search Features in App Update

Twitter has updated its mobile app for iOS and Android, improving the search and discovery functions.

Announcing the updates in a blog post, Twitter's engineering manager of Search and Relevance Daniel Loreto said users can now preview article summaries and photos in both Search and Discover without having to access the stories.

The update brings improved search features to the app and on the web, and shows photo and video results at the top of search results. This includes new tailored ranking, highlighting a specific tweet by showing users who favorited or retweeted it.

The update also means that users will see tweets in Discover with links to news and photos rather than the former story previews, which were not interactive.

"We want Discover to be the place where you find the best of that content relevant to you, even if you don't necessarily know everyone involved," Loreto said. "For this new release, we've completely redone the backend and user interface to take advantage of Twitter cards."

The rather pointless "Twitter cards" allows users to attach "media experiences" to tweets that link to content.

"Supporting Twitter cards on the backend means we can more directly improve the user experience in our native apps," Loreto added. "You'll see content from cards partners display as previews in the stream, so that you'll get headlines and publication names for story summaries and photo previews rather than shortened URLs."

Twitter said that this means fewer mouse clicks or touchscreen taps, fewer screen views, and more content, faster.

Twitter's updated app is available now from the iOS and Android app stores.

Twitter Offers New Sharing and Search Features

In the coming weeks Twitter will be making it easier to share tweets with specific people via email.

From the Twitter blog we learn

……we’re introducing the ability to email a Tweet directly from twitter.com –– a feature that will be rolling out to everyone over the coming weeks. You can email a Tweet to anyone, whether they use Twitter or not, right from your Twitter stream or from the details view of any Tweet. Just click on the “More” icon next to the reply, retweet and favorite buttons in order to email a Tweet to anyone you know. You can add your own comment, and we’ll send an email with your comment and the Tweet together. Just like that.

This comes on the heels of the news yesterday about an enriched search offering around images. Here is the gist of that offering from another Twitter blog post

View photos and videos first: People tell incredible stories on Twitter through photos and videos. When you search for a person, an event or a hashtag, you can now see a grid of the most relevant media above the stream of Tweets.

See headlines and photos: You can also see media instantly in your search results stream on iPhone and Android. Photos and article summaries automatically show previews to give you a bird’s eye view on what’s happening.

Understand context: About a year ago we launched tailored ranking of your search results, but until now you couldn’t see why a specific Tweet might matter more to you. Now you can see context like who favorited or retweeted right there in the Tweet.

Here is a look at what you will see when the feature reaches you over the next few weeks.

Shine bright like a Diamond

“Shine bright like a diamond” is the line of Rihanna’s new song that I just cannot get out of my head. I’m plagued with it every few seconds and yet I am not driving myself crazy. I absolutely love it and every time the words pop into my head they serve as a reminder to myself to “shine bright like a diamond”.

The song recognises the beauty in another and  within a relationship, however whenever I hear it, it serves as a reminder to be the best of me. If I was the director using this context I would have showcased the general public. Nothing over the top  just nice diverse shots of various people of all ages in their environment.

As I am not I decided to use my blog as a space to say, please tell your kids, your friends, your pupils to see themselves when they watch the video or hear the song.  I dedicate this  song to everyone in an attempt to nudge you into realising your inner potential, your best you.  I smile whenever I hear it. Do the  work now to manifest tomorrow! Celebrities are not the only stars.
