Kevin Harvick’s Son Already Has a Twitter Account: NASCAR Fan View 22-07-2012

Kevin Harvick has shared that his son already has a Twitter account. Keelan was born on July 8, and his parents have been protecting his online identity before he can sit up. In addition to creating aseparate Twitter account for Keelan, Kevin and DeLana Harvick have purchased domain names and set up a Facebook page.
Twitter for the Newborn
NASCAR has been encouraging drivers to embrace social media for months, and Kevin Harvick has built a strong following on Twitter. He has more than 200,000 followers while DeLana has more than100,000 followers. They both spend a considerable amount of time updating their accounts and responding to messages from fans.
Kevin and DeLana Harvick have admitted that they set up the Twitter account for Keelan several months before he was born. After a fan questioned the decision to create an account for a newborn, Kevin responded that the family is simply trying to protect him. He stated, "So some crazy doesn't do something stupid with it." The driver also shared that they do not plan on revealing baby picturessoon, but the Twitter name has not been a secret.
Followers for Keelan
Keelan is not old enough to eat solid food, but this has not stopped Harvick fans from following his Twitter account. Keelan has more than 4,000 fans and is actually following 10 others. Oddly, he is not following Kevin or DeLana. Instead, Keelan is following 10 sports and news organizations. Both Kevin and DeLana Harvick have been using the @KeelanHarvick name to discuss their son on Twitter. Now, other drivers and fans have started to use the same tag.
The couple's decision to start their son's presence on Twitter before he was born is not surprising because NASCAR has been focusing more on social media. Drivers have even been allowed to tweet during races. NASCAR formed a partnership with Twitter and aired the first commercial for the social network during the June 10 Pocono 400 race. Meanwhile, Twitter has created a curatedNASCAR page that focuses on finding the latest news. It seems that drivers are simply extending the partnership to other family members.
